Chef Demos are sponsored by
Piedmont Hospital
After making an indelible mark on the industry with Octopus Bar, a celebrated post-shift spot among our city's chefs, Angus Brown's newest concept was one of the most highly anticipated openings last year. And rightly so. Lusca has since been named as a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation's Best New Restaurant category, included in GQ's list of "America's 25 Outstanding Restaurants," and listed in bon appetit's "America's 50 Best New Restaurants." Angus was also named one of Cooking Light's "Trailblazing Chefs" and was nominated for Food & Wine's "People's Best New Chef." He's trained in French, Italian, and Asian cuisine, and has researched and cooked his way through Japan and Vietnam. Lucky for us, he's settled in his hometown of Atlanta, where he's committed to using local ingredients and serves on the chef advisory board of Atlanta's Community Farmers Markets. You won't want to miss this Saturday's demo with one of our city's most creative chefs!

Everything's better with PRFM

This week at PRFM...
Mother’s Day weekend is here. Don’t worry, PRFM has got you covered. Pick up some flowers and jewelry plus all the fixings (strawberries, anyone?) for a super-impressive brunch that any mama is sure to love—almost as much as she loves you.

Chef Demo
with Zach Meloy of BETTER HALF
10:00 a.m. on 5/9
Chef Demos are sponsored by
Piedmont Hospital
Chef Zach Meloy is a native Georgian who has experience in kitchens across the Southeast (with chefs like Gerry Klaskala, Jay Swift, and Frank Stitt) as well as in Latin America (including Costa Rica, where he met his "better half," Cristina). In 2011, Zach and Cristina launched their popular supper club, PushStart Kitchen, which gained such a following that the couple decided to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant (funded on Kickstarter by their many fans). At the end of 2013, they opened BETTER HALF, recently named by Garden & Gun as one of the five most exciting new restaurants in the South. Check out this week's demo and see exactly what all the buzz is about!

Master Gardeners Info Tent
Let your Central Fulton County Master Gardeners help you grow your garden! Now is a great time to plant, and the master gardeners will share their tips for getting your spring garden going. Got a garden question? They'll help you identify that mystery plant or figure out why your herbs aren't flourishing.

Food for thought...

Piedmont Healthcare's
"Living Better"
Berries are coming into full swing now! Not only are they delicious, but they help keep you healthy! Read more about the health benefits of berries at Piedmont Healthcare's "Living Better" website. Lena Beal, a therapeutic dietitian at Piedmont's Fuqua Heart Center, shares the three biggest benefits of these super-food fruits as well as ways to incorporate them into a balanced diet.

Relish Spring, Tempt Summer

Stop by the Market for all of your cook-out goodies—from hot dogs to buns, fruits to veggies—and don’t forget dessert (we know that’s not like you). PRFM has everything you need for a long weekend of impressively delicious local fare.

Chef Demo with Adam Waller

It’s not just about the burger, y’all. Ok, the Bocado burger is spectacular. But the Westside favorite now helmed by chef Adam Waller also offers smart cocktails and a creative lunch and dinner menu that rotates seasonally (love that). Chef Adam is no stranger to highlighting the delicious and fresh—he came to Bocado from sister restaurant STG Trattoria and from Sotto Sotto before that. Check out the demo tent this Saturday, where Adam will show you how best to celebrate market ingredients—and maybe he’ll even throw a burger tip or trick your way, just in time for cookout season.

Kids’ Corner
8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
PRFM is partnering with Elite Metro Sitters to provide child care during the May 25 market. Elite sitters are insured, background-checked and CPR-certified, plus they’ll have some pretty fun crafts for your toddler to enjoy while you shop the market!
